Coronation crown cake topper on a cupcake. Plus all the items used to make it.

Hi everyone! I’m super excited to share with you all my coronation crown cupcake topper! I made this in collaboration with The Cake Decorating Company to celebrate the king’s coronation in May. All items I used are available from The Cake Decorating Company. Links below, if you would like to take a look.

This topper really was a joy to make! I’m starting to get the bug for making miniature things as cupcake toppers! Here’s a close up pic!

I made the topper from The Sugar Paste and The Modelling Paste. These are definitely a favourite of mine to work with. I used The Sugar Paste for the cushion, the inside of the crown and the white part at the bottom, which I believe is called the ermine. I coloured the paste purple with Sugarflair’s purple food colouring paste. The rest of the crown was made using The Modelling Paste. After it was dry, I painted it gold using Sugarflair’s Treasure Gold paint. It painted on like a dream!

I decorated the crown with some fabulous pearls by Happy Sprinkles. Lastly, I added some small dots of black The Modelling Paste around the ermine.

Check out the video below for a peek at me making the crown.
