Mini Chocolate Christmas Pudding Bites!
These mini chocolate Christmas pudding bites are so much fun to bake and decorate. They would be perfect for a Christmas party.
- 170g Self Raising Flour
- 85g Caster Sugar
- 85g Unsalted Butter
- 2 Tablespoons of Cocoa Powder
- 1 Medium Egg
White, red and green fondant.
Preheat you oven to 180° (FAN)
Mix the flour, sugar and cocoa powder together. Rub in the butter, until you have a breadcrumb texture. Beat the egg and then add it to your bowl. Mix together with your hands until you get a dough consistency. Form the dough into small balls. Place these on a lined baking tray and bake in the middle of an oven for about 15 minutes.
Let the chocolate bites cool before decorating.
I used white fondant to make the Christmas pudding topping.
Using my wavy edged fondant cutter, I cut out some shapes.
Then using my fingers , I gently teased some of the curves out further to look more like drips.
If you don’t have this cutter, you could always use a similar shaped one, or even cut free hand.
Place the white fondant shapes on top of the chocolate bites. If they don’t stick, you could use a tiny amount of water to help.
Lastly, I used my mini holly plunger cutter to cut some holly shapes out of green fondant. Again, if you do not have one, you could always mould these with your fingers and use a cocktail stick to make the veins. I stuck the holly leaves on top of the puddings and then added three tiny balls of red fondant in the middle for berries. I usually use a tiny bit of vodka to stick my fondant together. You could use water, but use it sparingly so your fondant doesn’t get soggy.
